Audio for HTML5 Game Dev : The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

October 29th, 2012

Last week, our JavaScript Game Dev group got together to discuss a hot button issue. Anyone who’s ever tried to develop a game using HTML5 knows what a challenge audio can be. Chris Khoo of Wappworks Studio joined us all the way from Vancouver, B.C. to share his immense knowledge and the good, the bad and the ugly of Effective HTML5 Game Audio.

You can view his complete talk here: Chris Khoo presents HTML5 Audio

Don’t have 30 minutes but still interested? Watch the demo highlights here: Demos

Chris has been kind enough to  provide the source code for the HTML5 audio problem demo, and the audio system demo. And, for those who attended are were asking about the explosion visual effects, see this spritesheet generated using TimelineFx.

Thanks again to Chris and to all who were able to attend. We’ll see you in November!
